Modules & callouts

A module is a three-way relay: the blind monkey handles the bomb without seeing it, the deaf monkey sees its panels but cannot hear, and the mute monkey reads the manual but cannot speak. In the current player guides, the mute monkey selects the manual page from the other two players' clues, then sends the answer back through gestures. Two roles need a microphone; the mute role does not. [3] [2]

The official announcement describes 14 new modules: 11 standard and 3 Chaos. That is an additions count, not a confirmed lifetime total, and the guides below are examples rather than a claim that every session uses identical layouts. [5]

ModuleCallouts and manual matchWrong input / feedback
WiresThe deaf monkey calls every wire colour from left to right and the lamp colour. The mute monkey finds the matching table and gestures the cut position or colour to the blind monkey. The guide gives the communication pattern but does not state a universal reset rule. Do not borrow Maze's reset behaviour for Wires.
MazeBlind calls the Braille number and red-light location; deaf calls the green-light goal. Mute uses the matching manual page, then gestures a direction and distance.A wrong move sends the mute monkey back to the start; the destination and path remain. This is independently described by the Chinese Maze guide. [4]
DirectionsFor each of four stages, deaf calls the lamp colour and blind calls the Braille digit; mute selects the manual result and signals a direction. The player guide says a wrong button resets the whole input. Its left/right callout is from the blind monkey's perspective.

The same current guide also covers colour sliders, calculation, symbols, piano, sound panel, Simon, switches, Morse and the three Chaos modules. It reports different feedback rules by module—for example, a Simon error does not reset completed stages—so keep the module name in every callout instead of using one generic failure rule. [3]

Practice the relay before a run

  1. Name the module first, then have blind and deaf give only the clues the mute monkey needs.
  2. Have the mute monkey confirm the matched manual row with one gesture before the blind monkey acts.
  3. After an error, say which module changed and check that module's own reset rule before repeating an input.

Custom mode is the safe place to rehearse: the FAQ says it can adjust module types, bomb difficulty, explosion timer, environmental hazards and allowed mistakes. [2]
